How it all began…
In 1991, Merrick Rosenberg and Jeff Backal founded Team Builders Plus, one of the world’s first team building companies. By creating a range of fun and transformative programs, they laid the foundation for the team building industry we have today.
In 1994, it became clear that conflict often arose from people not understanding each other’s needs. Team members and managers needed to learn how to communicate and work with people of all styles. Organizations needed to create engaging work environments if they wanted to retain their people. By infusing the interactive team building approach into DISC training programs, Team Builders Plus quickly rose to become one of the largest DISC training providers in the country.
In 2012, Merrick Rosenberg breathed new life into the age-old DISC model by linking the styles to Eagles, Parrots, Doves, and Owls in his first book, Taking Flight!. With the combination of fun activities with the four birds, Take Flight Learning was born.
