As the song goes, “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” When someone leaves the team, you can feel the energy shift. The balance changes, and suddenly, the group feels different, even if you can’t quite explain why.

Every person brings their own rhythm and skills to a team. Each style—Eagle, Parrot, Dove, and Owl—contributes a unique energy that influences how people work, connect, and collaborate. When one leaves, the absence is felt in more ways than one.

🦅 When an Eagle Leaves

Momentum slows. Decisions linger. The drive that once pushed things forward fades, and suddenly, people are looking for direction. Without that confident, take-charge presence, progress can stall as the team hesitates to fill the leadership vacuum.

🦜 When a Parrot Leaves

The laughter quiets. The spark that made ideas flow freely dims, and meetings feel just a little too serious. Without the Parrot’s infectious enthusiasm, the team may lose some of its creativity and lightness.

🕊 When a Dove Leaves

Tension rises. Conversations lose their gentleness. The glue that held everyone together is gone, and people feel the difference.. Without the Dove’s calming presence, harmony gives way to conflict.

🦉 When an Owl Leaves

Precision falters. Details slip. The structure that maintained smooth operations begins to wobble. Without the Owl’s methodical eye, small issues can escalate, and efficiency declines.

We often notice someone’s personality most clearly in their absence. That’s the paradox of presence. Its value is easiest to feel once it’s missing.

So, before that energy disappears, pause to appreciate it.

Tell the Eagle how much their drive inspires you. Let the Parrot know their positivity lifts the team. Thank the Dove for their compassion and steadiness. Recognize the Owl for their thoughtful structure and clarity.

When we honor what each person brings, we strengthen the team while it’s still whole.
