This entertaining 30-minute film helps people understand themselves and others by linking the DISC styles to four memorable bird characters. The styles literally come to life as learners see themselves in the story. Watch the dominant Eagle, influential Parrot, supportive Dove, and conscientious Owl as they gain style wisdom and learn how to work together to save the day. Guided by an adaptable chameleon and The Bird Guy, played by DISC styles expert Merrick Rosenberg, the characters learn to value each other’s unique strengths as you learn how to apply the styles throughout your life.

We know that emotional responses lead to long-term retention of information. We also know that auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning experiences generate heightened retention and lasting results. BirdBrains, Inc. allows learners to watch the styles in action, learn about themselves and others through two humorous songs, gain practical advice from clearly stated lessons, and participate in an active debrief session to turn insights into action. There has never been a more powerful way to learn about the DISC styles.

The film can be shown in a classroom as part of a DISC training program or as a stand-alone event, such as a lunch n’ learn. If people have already gone through DISC training, the movie can reinforce and build upon the concepts they previously learned.

The film can be shown in its entirety or in four segments. If you have a skilled facilitator, that individual can guide discussion based on the BirdBrains, Inc. Participant Guide. Or you can show eight three-minute debrief videos that provide instructions for group discussion in the classroom. Show these videos at the film’s end or at pre-designated times throughout. It’s up to you!

BirdBrains, Inc. viewers will learn the following lessons from the film:

  • There is strength in flexibility.
  • Treat others how they need to be treated, not how you want to be treated.
  • Appreciate the gifts each style brings.
  • Use the right style at the right time.
  • Use your strengths but don’t overuse them.
  • Don’t impose your style on others.

Monkey Boys Productions crafted the characters. They have created puppets, props, and creatures for theme parks, stage, television, and movies, including Sea World, Little Shop of Horrors, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Saturday Night Live. Big Howl Productions produced and directed the film. They have produced animation and puppetry projects for clients like SyFy Channel, Netflix, and Hasbro. Grammy-nominated musician David Young produced the two musical numbers.
