What do you remember about the first time you experienced the Taking Flight with DISC training program?

It felt extraordinary—almost electric. Reading my Taking Flight Profile, I was overwhelmed by how accurately such a simple assessment could capture my strengths, motivations, and purpose. Unlike other models I’d learned in the past, the birds really helped DISC stay with me.

How has Taking Flight with DISC impacted your own development?

It’s given me a level of self-awareness that continues to grow. Learning the styles has helped me value and appreciate others in a deeper, more intentional way. And I’ve noticed that personal transformation becoming a professional transformation as it carries over into the training room when I teach the program.

Describe what’s it’s like in the room when you deliver the Taking Flight with DISC training program.

The energy is unmistakable. Participants lean in from the moment we begin, even those who rarely speak up. I’ll never forget an employee proudly declaring, “We’re mechanics…that’s why we’re Owls!” and watching the entire group come alive with recognition and connection.

What’s changed in your organization since you’ve implemented the styles?

We’ve seen a noticeable shift toward stronger relationships and shared success. As more and more people have learned and embraced the four styles—leaders, HR, and our Emerging Leaders Institute—the language of the birds has become part of our culture. We use it in presentations, cross-department collaboration, even in casual conversations. We now have stronger teams and accelerated project work because we understand how to engage one another based on what each person needs.

Why should other organizations consider the Taking Flight with DISC program?

The impact is tangible. We’re operating with more cohesion by elevating each person’s style-based strengths. I’ve overheard supervisors applying the styles with vendors, and employees use them at home with their families. Ultimately, the biggest difference the program has made is simple but profound—we treat others the way they need to be treated. We’re getting more done, growing together, and working as one team.
